Chorleywood Common

Natural play features that blend seemlessly with the natural surroundings of the common
Chorleywwod Parish Council asked us to design simple and natural play structures that provided play experiences that wouldn't degrade the natural surroundings of the common and its natural beauty. This is what we do best!
We created 3 natural play structures made from English oak. Oak is incredibly long lasting and also, it provides habitat for countless species as it slowly decays. All 3 of the structures are in full contact with the ground are a slowly releasing their carbon to the soil. When the play areas have finished their long decay cycle, there'll be nothing to dispose of in landfill, no chemicals, just natural processes at work.
The play areas are popular additions to the common and it's a great example of how we can preserve the essence of our natural environment by avoiding creating incongruous play developments in countryside locations.
A great example of Nature, Play, Place.

We wanted a play area that would engage children and introduce them to the historical significance of our location. The design not only provides a fun and imaginative space for our little visitors but also serves as a subtle educational tool, interpreting the archaeology of the site in a way that is both engaging and meaningful.
