Aldbury Primary School - The Rebuild

Aldbury, Hertfordshire

The original play structure was over 10 years old and was one of our very first. It had lasted very well but the new headteacher decided it was time for a re-vamp so we were brought in to design something bigger and more accessible for the whole school to enjoy.

We deconstructed the old Wildwood Den and reused some of the largest, most characterful pieces of oak. We then added a considerable amount of new oak to create a fabulous new play area. The mound was totally re-landscaped and planted with wildflower turf which has been wonderful for the children as it attracts butterflies and lots of other interesting wildlife to their playground.
